Sunday Goosfaba 8/10/08

10 days and counting!

So today at Life Pointe we kicked off the “Consumed” message series, a two-week series on worship.  Today Paul spoke.  He hit some really good points today.  Although, and with all due respect to Paul, he’s a cool guy and I love him, but the whole doxology thing with the “gregorian chant”-type “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaameeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnn” just didn’t cut it for me.  I love Life Pointe because of its in-your-face modern attitude.  I came here to escape the whole routine prayer and stuff like that.  Basically, if everyone in the congregation knows the prayer word for word, it just doesn’t sit well with me.  Too…Catholic for me.  And I love Catholics, just not Catholocism.  Otherwise, everything went smoothly.  Mike took over on the drums at the last minute because tempos for today’s songs were all whack and a little too advanced for an amateur like me.  Thanks for saving me Mike! =]

THIS IS IMPORTANT!  If you go to Life Pointe, and you love what we do and how we do it, keep in mind that there are people working behind the scenes for no one’s glory but God’s.  We really need volunteers to help us tear down and set up everything for the church.  Sure, it’s not the most glamourous job, and the pay stinks (hahaha), but it is one of the most important elements of what Life Pointe does.  If you’re interested in volunteering to help us with our stuff, feel free to call the office and ask them how you can do it.  LPC’s number is 305-247-0889, Mondays thru Thursdays from 8am-5pm.  Thanks.

In personal news, this should be a fun week. =]  I’ll keep you guys updated.

  1. […] For another perspective on this morning at Life Pointe, visit Ritz for the Sunday Goosfaba. […]

  2. Ritz I think that we need to shout this from the roof tops WE NEED MORE PEOPLE TO HELP.

It’s funny becaue someone asked my son at the school that he works at how I was doing (that’s a miracle) and he told him as well I could be you know. She then asked since I can’t do anything was I going out of my mind by myself, his reply she works for HER church as much as she can, her question “how much does she get paid”. These are the types that don’t know the liberty of knowing such an amazing GOD like we know to them money comes above and before anything else in life even her family.

  3. To borrow from the streets, tru dat! it is an honor and a privilege to serve the Lord in any way possible. And going along with the theme of “Consumed”, helping the church is also a form of worship. =]
