Tuesday Song Of The Week
Psych final today was easy too. And seeing as tomorrow’s final is open book, I can safely say that I will end the semester on a good note. =]
Had my internet not been down last week, you would’ve seen December’s first Song of the Week. To make up for it, I will post the lyrics to two songs today. In the spirit of Christmas, both will be Relient K Christmas tunes. Enjoy. =]
The first is one of the most well-known, yet annoying Christmas songs ever:
12 Days Of Christmas
On the first day of christmas
my true love gave to me
a Partridge in a Pear Tree
On the second day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
On the third day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree
On the fourth day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Four Calling Birds,
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
On the fifth day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Five Golden Rings,
Four Calling Birds,
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
whats a partridge?
and whats a pear tree?
I don’t know so please don’t ask me
But I can bet those are terrible gifts to get.
On the sixth day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Six Geese-a-Laying,
Five Golden Rings,
Four Calling Birds,
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
On the seventh day of Christmas,

Four Calling Birds,
Three French Hens,
Two Turtle Doves,
And a Partridge in a Pear Tree.
whats a partridge?
and whats a pear tree?
I don’t know so please don’t ask me
But I can bet those are terrible gifts to get.
On the tenth day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Ten Lords-a-Leaping,
Nine Ladies Dancing,

Secondly, we have “I Celebrate The Day”, which is not just one of my favorite RK Christmas songs, but one of my favorite RK songs period:
I Celebrate The Day
And with this Christmas wish is missed
The point I could convey
If only I could find the words to say to let You know how much You’ve touched my life
Because here is where You’re finding me, in the exact same place as New Year’s eve
And from a lack of my persistency
We’re less than half as close as I want to be
And the first time
That You opened Your eyes did You realize that You would be my Savior
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did You know that it would change this world forever
And so this Christmas I’ll compare the things I felt in prior years
To what this midnight made so clear
That You have come to meet me here
To look back and think that
This baby would one day save me
In the hope that what You did
That you were born so I might live
To look back and think that
This baby would one day save me
And I, I celebrate the day
That You were born to die
So I could one day pray for You to save my life.

Relient K – One of my favourite groups of the current decade – and one of the few groups that I actually knew existed before this journey began for me.
I’m particularly fond of “I Hate Christmas Parties” which is sort of like a melancholy theme song for me of Christmas past. I know that it’s not a Relient K song but rather a Matt & The Earthquakes track, but no matter how many times I hear it I still get the chills.
Yeah. I like it too for some strange reason, even if it is one of the more “emo” tracks on the Christmas album.
I like the second one better. Happy that the grades are good.
