Mutha’s Day Goosfaba

Hello all!  Welcome to another lovely edition of the Ritz Crackah’s Sunday Goosfaba.  As you all know (unless you’re a single father without access to tv, internet, or a newspaper), today is Mother’s Day!  Yaaaaaaaaaay!  First of all, I’d like to congratulate my own RitzMutha.  I thank her for putting up with me loving me and raising me so well. =]

On to my Goosfaba.  Today, Life Pointe pulled out all the stops for the moms.  We had REAL chocolate fountains!  I didn’t think Trav was serious. =]  Lots of good stuff for the moms.  There was even a two-person jazz band.  My mom called them geeks without knowing who they were, and they happened to be right in front of her. xD  Oh, that RitzMutha of mine. ;]  Anyhoo, Trav looked very sharp dressed in his suit and tie (although some people thought he was part of a funeral service), and he delivered a message to match.  The message was very good, straight to the point.  No beating around the bush.  That’s what I like about Trav’s sermons.  They reach everyone from the elderly who keep yelling out “Amen!  Tell the truth!”, to the young ADD-afflicted teens. ;]

Some of the mothers were awarded with a $20 gift certificate to El Nachito Mexican restaurant.  Mine was included in that.  That was really a blessing, ’cause I only had $6, so I was going to invite my mom to Wendy’s…99 cents. =P  We enjoyed a good meal.  Really good.  Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.  And the deserts?  Oh man!  The fried cheesecake is good, but it’s essentially a heart attack waiting to happen.  My mom had the fried ice cream, and THAT was really good.

Afterwards, with very full bellies, we came back home to our newly-neutered cat.  He’s still semi-drugged up, but I guess the lack of testoterone tastes an immediate effect.  He’s more friendly than I’ve ever seen him.  But man oh man, my cat put up a fight for his b*lls.  We went to go pick him up from the humane society up in Cutler Bay at around 5 yesterday, and we walked in and they asked “what is your cat’s name?” and my mom told them “it’s Smokey”.  The lady said “ooooohhhhhhhh, Smokey!”  And in the back of my head I’m thinking “Oh dear Lord, what did he do?”  Sure enough the lady that brought him out told us about how they’ve never seen such a pair of fangs on a cat.  They had to stand back and throw a net on him.  And the name on his kennel was perfect: Smokey Guerra (Guerra is my mom’s last name, and it’s Spanish for “war” ;)   That’s my son!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!

  2. Ritz, you have a real special Ritz Mutha! Seriously, I can’t tell you how loved you guys are…or how proud I am of you.

  3. David, you have a wonderful mom and she was an awasome son. When ever I can make it to church again we need to get a bite and get to know each other in person even if is at Wendy’s 99 cent special, just to be able to partake with each other is a blessing.

You both have a blessed wek. Tell mom that I won’t forget and I’m praying.

    Love ya,

    Ela
